Dallas Chapter Activities
- Veterans Day Parade and Massing of Colors Ceremony
The Dallas Chapter has been a major participant in Greater
Dallas Veterans Foundation. The last five overall Chairperson's,
Event and Ceremony Chairperson's as well as several committee
members are chapter members. The Massing Ceremony is conducted
Nation wide and the flags in the Dallas ceremony are supplied
by the Chapter. The Dallas Chapter also lends financial
support and awards for the top JROTC marching units. A Rotating plaque
is awarded the outstanding unit with their School name and year on it.
The Dallas Chapter has our National and Chapter Colors carried by a local
JROTC Cadet Color Guard dressed in early US Calvary uniforms leading our
parade vehicles with outstanding Youth and JROTC leaders from summer conferences.
- Youth Leadership Conferences
This past year the Chapter interviewed, selected and sponsored
57 high school 10th and 11th grade youth to attend conferences
at
- Texas A & M, Bryan, TX
- Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma City, OK
- Two on the Aircraft Carrier Lexington, Corpus Christi, TX
- Conference: Texas Wesleyn University, Fort Worth, TX
These youth came from 25 high schools in the
Dallas metropolitan area. Our Chapter honored 6 youths chosen as outstanding
last September as our guest with school principals and administrators.
- JROTC and ROTC Program Support
National JROTC & ROTC Program Award Winner 2005 - 2006
The chapter supports some 37 high schools and two university program
with awards. This recognition of outstanding cadets at each
school with the MOWW Medal of Merit and Certificate are awarded by
members of the chapter at school ceremonies in the spring. The
Chapter presents the Patrick Henry Bronze awards to outstanding
Army and Air Force Cadet members from several summer camp programs.
We honored 6 youths with Patrick Henry Awards at luncheons in
September with their principals and administrators attending.
- Scouting
Recognition and support of Scouting programs by awarding Eagle award
for the Boy Scouts and Gold Award for Girl Scouts at ceremonies
or locations selected by Scouts and presented by Chapter members.
This year out Chapter awarded 55 Eagle Scout awards at Troop meetings,
church programs, home programs, and events requested by Scouts.
Chapter found and sponsored a home schooled Scout Troop to march in the Veterans Day parade,
one member marching with them. Veterans invited to speak to Troops and leadership.
One Girl Scout Color Guard did posting of Colors at our formal June dinner.
The Chapter provides financial gifts to both the local and National Scouting Headquarters.
- Monthly Quest Speakers at Luncheons
Each month the chapter has a guest speaker or program associated with
precepts of our Preamble. This past year we had

- Col.Walt Kamien, USAF, Director of Operations Washington Threat Reduction Agency
- Mr. Robert Irish, Management CO. Invited by Secretary of Defense to tour European Command from US Industry
- Mr. Guadalup Gonzales, Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas FBI Office,
- Col. Knox Bishop, Dallas Air Space Museum Asst. To Director,
- Capt. Mark Sadel USN, C.O. 7th Fleet Reserve Unit
- Congressman Jeb Hensarling, 5th District of Texas,
- Region VIII Meeting in Oklahoma City, OK
Dallas Chapter, one of 16 Chapters in the Region, won

- National Convention In Warwick, RI 2005 - 2006
- Dallas Chapter won the The Memphis Trophy 2005 - 2006
as best large Chapter in the order for third time in four years.
- We received first Chapter trophies for ROTC and Publication and runner up Patriotic National Programs.
- Past Chapter Commander Col. Cliff Way lead a seminar at National
for new Chapter Commanders and has been appointed Chairman of the Activity Awards Committee.
- Col. Cliff Way was also elected to the National General Staff of the Order.
