Dallas Chapter Goals and Objectives 2009-2010
- Increase chapter membership by a minimum of one new member a month (12 for the year net increase over dropped and deceased members).
- Increase perpetual membership as a percent of total living members to 66% from the current 62%.
- Increase the level of funding for the chapter’s ongoing expenses plus for YLC, ROTC and Scouting needs through new fund raising
activities and increased contributions from external sources.
- Chapter members make a point to get to know another fellow companion, and his/her story, at every meeting or outing, trying for
at least one a month.
- Continue our ongoing support and recognition of ROTC and add new JROTC & SROTC units to our numbers
- Continue our support and recognition of Patriotic Education/Youth Leadership and increase the number of students we fund for YLC to at least 55.
- Continue our support and recognition of Boy and Girl Scouts through increasing our level of contact with headquarters offices.
Establish relationships with at least ten more individual Boy Scout troops for Eagle Awards.
- Continue our support and recognition of local police, firefighters, and other first-responders as part of our Law & Order and
National Security programs, and add at least four community police and fire department awards above 2008-09.
- Continue participation in patriotic events such as Greater Dallas Veterans Day Parade, other local parades, Massing of the Colors,
Memorial ceremonies at local cemeteries, such as DFW National, Laurel Land and Restland Memorial Park, plus patriotic events
at schools, churches and Masonic and other organizations.
- Increase our visits (and the number of members participating) in our support of veterans/military to “Meet the Troops”,
VA Hospitals and other support activities.
- Continue to recognize and award individuals in the community who perform patriotic service and beyond-the-ordinary acts in
consonance with our MOWW Preamble.
